Terms of Service

Acceptance of Terms

By registering, accessing, or using BackerLens, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms of Service. If you use BackerLens on behalf of a company or team, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The Service

BackerLens is a crowdfunding sourcing radar that continuously scans Kickstarter (with Indiegogo and other platforms planned) and surfaces high-potential products to cross-border sellers using a composite score.

The service includes: live project monitoring, the Lens Score (based on funding velocity, backers, and growth), favorites, trend charts, and quick links to relevant supplier directories.

BackerLens data is provided for reference only and does not constitute investment or sourcing advice. Final decisions are yours; we are not liable for business outcomes based on platform data.

Plans

BackerLens currently offers:

• ›Free — full access during early access. Live Lens Score, trend charts, /trending breakout board, and unlimited favorites
• ›Pro (planned) — keyword alerts, CSV export, Indiegogo/WeFunder coverage, AI sourcing summaries, priority support
• ›Team (planned) — everything in Pro plus seats, API access, Amazon competitor analysis, dedicated support

Pro and Team are not yet available for purchase. Pricing shown elsewhere on the site is indicative; final pricing and billing terms will be confirmed at launch and existing waitlist members will be notified at least 15 days before they go live.

Free Access During Early Access

While BackerLens is in early access, all features available on the platform are free for everyone. No payment method is required to register.

When Pro or Team launches, current free users will continue to have free access to today's feature set unless we explicitly notify otherwise.

Billing & Payment (when applicable)

Once paid plans launch, subscriptions will be charged in advance per cycle: monthly plans on the billing date, annual plans once per renewal. Payments are processed by third-party providers; we do not store your payment credentials.

If a payment fails, the system will retry up to 3 times within 7 days and notify you by email. Accounts with unresolved payment issues may be feature-restricted.

Cancellation & Refunds

• ›You may cancel any subscription from account settings at any time; you keep access through the end of the current billing cycle
• ›Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable for the current cycle
• ›Annual subscriptions: pro-rated refund available within 30 days of renewal if used for less than 2 months
• ›Free accounts inactive for 12+ months may be deleted (we will email you 30 days in advance)

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• ›Bulk-scrape or automate access to platform data
• ›Resell platform data to third parties or build competing services on top of it
• ›Attempt unauthorized access to other accounts or data
• ›Upload or distribute illegal or rights-infringing content
• ›Violate applicable laws while using the service

Accounts in violation may be suspended immediately; severe or repeat violations may be permanently terminated without refund.

Intellectual Property

The BackerLens platform, brand, scoring models, and software are owned by the BackerLens team. Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of our software. Your favorites and notes belong to you.

Service Availability

BackerLens targets 99.5% monthly availability (excluding scheduled maintenance, announced 48h in advance). Sustained outages exceeding 4 hours caused by us may qualify Pro and Team users for pro-rated service credit. Upstream crowdfunding data refreshes every 4 hours; individual upstream platform delays are outside our SLA.

Limitation of Liability

Our total liability for any claim is capped at the subscription fees you paid in the three months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect losses, lost profits, lost data, or any losses arising from business decisions made using platform data.

Changes to Terms

For material changes, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Prior versions are kept on this page for reference.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where BackerLens is operated. Disputes will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation; if that fails, they will be submitted to the competent court at the operating entity's location.
